In response to today’s Daily Post – Collecting Words and Sentences
Make your own Bible. Select and collect all the words and sentences that in all your readings have been to you like the blast of a trumpet.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
When I first started blogging I had a Quotes section right under my header photo. I miss that feature but it didn’t quite fit with this theme. Now I have a Quotes Category link on my sidebar under “Other Stuff”. Sometimes in the past I would update my quotes more often than writing a blog post. There are so many inspirational words out there.
I don’t post quotes here very much anymore, but I do on a different website. I post monthly quotes by theme on NHFaithFusion.com. It’s usually an eclectic mix of authors, public figures, and religious leaders both past and present. Anyone can say something good because we all have the spirit of goodness inside, even if it’s buried deep.
I have volumes of spiritual books as I have studied the teachings of the world’s religions since I was 12 years old. I’ve never been a student of theology, but always a learner of truth and a believer in the way of heart. What speaks to me most is a pure heart.
Nature also speaks to me, and I see my photos as quotes from nature. A simple blade of grass or a leaf can speak volumes. It whispers love, truth, beauty and goodness in the most sublime language. Inspiration is everywhere if we choose to see it, hear it or read it.
Lots of insights in this post. Always like collections of quotes – they always are at hand when you need them!
