This one is hard for me, I’m not the competitive type. A minor achievement in the scheme of things, I won 2nd and 3rd place (or was it 1st and 3rd, I can’t remember) in the NH State Flower photo contest a few years ago. I never enter contests, but I had just been out photographing the Lilacs when I heard about it. They are my favorite color after all.
I consider my family to be my greatest achievement, and I know that seems lame to some people, but family is important to me. It has not been easy either, we’ve had plenty of problems and struggles. If you want an easy life don’t bother getting married and having children. On the other hand, if you want a rewarding life then put as much effort into creating a loving family as you would put into creating a successful career. That’s just the way I see it.

My 20-year-old self would have thought it lame. The same goes for my 25-year-old self. My 36-year-old self, though? Right there with you. With so much love.

Thanks. I had my first child at 32 and I’m glad I waited. My kids all seem to be following that path as well, so I guess I’ll be an old grandma someday.
