Fabulous Fabric Forms

A month or so ago I stumbled upon this incredibly creative fabric artist. We have 2 things in common – a love of fabric and origami. She has beautifully accomplished what I have been attempting to do, combine the 2 crafts into one. So I invited her to send me photos & her thoughts so I could post this:

The Artist Thandar says:

“I recently discovered Japanese Kanzashi (geisha hair ornaments made out of fabric). For me, combining my love of fabric and origami, this is the best of both world. I started out my digging into my friends’ mom’s fabric basket over the thanksgiving weekend. I gave up the idea of sleep even after the turkey. Since then, I have been researching and practicing my so called “fabric Origami” skills. Its been almost one year. The more I play with this, the more I over it. I found myself completely addicted.”
